The P3O® (Portfolio, Program, and Project Offices) Foundation course, developed by AXELOS, provides
participants with a comprehensive understanding of how to establish, manage, and optimize support
structures for portfolio, program, and project management. The course introduces the P3O® model and
explains how it aligns business strategy with project delivery through effective governance, decisionmaking support, and centralized control. This foundational course equips professionals with the
terminology, principles, and practices needed to contribute to or lead the development of a P3O® model
within their organization. It serves as a steppingstone to the P3O® Practitioner level and supports
successful implementation of PMOs, CoEs, or other support functions across all sectors.
